Sarah’s father was a dentist and she practiced in his clinic. In 1941 she married Shraga Weil. When the deportations from Slovakia started in 1942, the couple fled to Budapest. In 1943 they were caught by the Hungarian police, imprisoned until 1944 and then under police supervision in Miskolc. Sarah was her husband’s partner in his underground activities. She returned to Slovakia and was liberated in 1945. Sarah returned to Hungary and integrated the movement’s activities mainly rescuing Jewish youngsters and helping them make aliya. In 1947 she herself made aliya and became a member of Kibbutz Ha’ogen.
